Happy 30th Anniversary!
posted by Dan on November 7th, 2011
This photo of my parents, Dot and Gerry, was taken 30 years ago today. They are an incredible couple and their marriage is a great example of authentic, selfless love that Meg and I hope to follow. As you can see my dad was in the Navy, he retired a few years ago after 29 years of active duty. As you can also see, my mom was beautiful on her wedding day and she’s even prettier now (which my dad is excited about). Congratulations Mom and Dad on your 30th anniversary! -Dan
Life on the Farm
posted by Dan on November 4th, 2011

We headed up for a few events to a state known for its bounty of agricultural goodness, Wisconsin.
We were hosted by our friends Andy, Syd, Jane, Ranger, Rocco, and Reagan who showed us how awesome life on a small farm can be. It was great! We collected eggs, spun honey out of the hive, checked up on the turkeys and chickens and rode unicorns.
We played music in Appleton and Cross Plains and had a great time. Unfortunately on this trip, I got a ticket for “following too closely” on the highway – which was a drag; but no doubt about it, the greatness of the trip trumped my driving woes*.
*We now only perform events we can reach by either boat or plane and don’t have to drive to (not really). Thanks to Andy for some of these great photos!
Live Performance From Two Years Ago
posted by Kyle on November 3rd, 2011
This was a renegade performance in the middle of the exhibit hall an NCYC 2009. Filmed and edited by Spirit Juice Studios for their NCYC Unplugged series.
We have five performances scheduled for the weekend of NCYC 2011 . . . perhaps we will have some more renegade performances as well. See you there?
Quantum Levitation… Bringing Hover Boards to Reality!
posted by Dan on October 18th, 2011
Call me entitled, whiny, or demanding… but seriously, we’ve been waiting for hover boards since Marty McFly showed his off in 1989 during the film Back to the Future II and it’s about time we made some progress in getting these things operational.
But, as we know, good things come to those who wait. Which is why my prayer intention today is for patience… and for God to hasten the production of hover boards.
Special thanks to our buddy Mike Dalessio. May the force be with you… (and with your spirit).
St. Francis High School Knows how to Party
posted by Dan on October 13th, 2011

We just wrapped up the Freshmen retreat at St. Francis High School in La Canada, CA. This is one of our favorite events every year, partly because of the great students and staff of St. Francis, partly because these people really know how to party.
What you see in the photo above is an In-N-Out big rig that they pulled on campus to serve everyone delicious double doubles. It was out of control. Also, the last speaker of the day was a professional MMA fighter… it doesn’t get much better than that when you go to an all guys school. Mr. Godson, the campus minister is at the top of his game, it’s incredible.

Baby Watch 2011
posted by Dan on October 7th, 2011

Welp, it’s that time of year again – BABY TIME!
Kyle and Kate are expecting baby number two today!
Pray for Kate, Kyle, Sebastian, and the new baby (mostly pray for Kate and the new baby though because… well, it’s child birth). We’ll keep you up to date as info becomes available.
(Sorry for the lame bird nest I used to illustrate “Baby watch 2011.” Kate isn’t giving birth to a bird, it’s going to be a baby, a human one.)
Do You Know Gungor?
posted by Kyle on September 7th, 2011
If you don’t, you should! Dan and I have been playing Gungor‘s “Beautiful Things” when we lead praise and worship. The song is amazing and resonates with many people. They have a new CD coming out and posted this video on YouTube:
If you haven’t heard “Beautiful Things,” you should watch/listen to this also:
Is Oklahoma OK?
posted by Dan on August 17th, 2011

We’ll be finding out this weekend when we visit the great city of Tulsa to hang out with our friends at their parish feast/party/extravaganza/*tractor pull. If you live in Oklahoma then wave in the general direction of Tulsa and we’ll wave back. If you live outside of Oklahoma, wave towards Oklahoma, if you live outside the US then wave in the general direction… you get the point. Did you get to take any trips this summer? If so, where did you go? **Have you ever been to Popple Oklahoma?
*There won’t actually be a tractor pull, as far as we know (but we love surprises).
**Probably not, I made that town up.
