Moral Quandry: I have my cake, but can I eat it too?
posted by Dan on February 19th, 2010

Here is a photo of Kyle and his lovely wife Kate cutting their Wedding Cake. Beautiful couple, Amen.
One of the most exciting days of the wedding planning experience (for me at least) is the day you get to do a “cake tasting.” My fiance and I planned a cake tasting with a family friend who makes cakes. That cake tasting is today, today is a Friday in Lent.
Fridays are a day of fasting and I’m pretty sure tasting an array of delicious cake flavors doesn’t well qualify as fasting. Can I fast on an alternate day to compensate for the cake today? What if there is a cake made entirely out of meat products? I’d certainly have to decline that cake. A cake made out of fish however… mmm delicious.
What would you do?
Lent!

As the Church enters into this incredible season of Lent, pray for us as we pray for you, that we might renew ourselves and deepen our commitment to living lives of faith, hope and love. God Bless.
Kyle’s funny Lenten quote: “Fasting without prayer is just a diet.” (I’m not sure it was supposed to be funny, but I laughed)

We will be in Jackson, MS for the weekend. Two years ago the group was lots of fun. We are looking forward to coming back.
Jackson is very well known. Here are some people named after this fine city:
