Palindromes

Tomorrow we fly to New Mexico where we will play music and speak as a youth/parish mission on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Then, Wednesday we fly to Minnesota where we play a few events.

Odd Skillz

And they say playing the nose flute is an odd skill. This guy made sushi to look like Obama!

Texas Summary

We flew out of gate B16! The Papal gate.

We ate at the Texas franchise: Whataburger. Not only do they have a sign that looks like the Weezer logo, but the sign on the door looks like the Converse logo. Bigger in Texas, maybe, more original? . . . maybe Weezer stole it from Whataburger.

We played for 700-800 middle school students and perhaps we will get some pictures of that, eh hem, eh hem.

Then we played for St. Ignatius and his followers! Very fun.

Camping with Dan’s Fam

Last weekend, my wife, Kate, and I went to Agua Caliente to camp with Dan’s home parish. Dan wasn’t able to go, so, like a good band-mate, I went in his stead . . . his proxy if you will.

I got to play guitar at mass with Dan’s dad (left) and the Marks sisters (right). If you look close, you can see the elbow of Jack, Dan’s drumming brother.

Here we are at the campfire with some family friends. It was a fun weekend.

Wisconsin: fancy staplers and boxing

The above stapler was found in the office of St. Pius X. I don’t know if there is really anything to say. Maybe I should do this to my guitar?

Now meet Tommy. Tommy lives at the rectory (which we lived in for 2 nights) and he has boxing gloves.

He talked Dan into boxing him for awhile:

We really enjoyed Tommy, Fr. Tom, Erins and all the people of St. Pius X who were so welcoming and fun to be with.

Now we are in Houston. It is much warmer here.

Ouisconsin!!

As indicated on this image, Wisconsin loves French. I am told this is only a sampling of the French towns in Wisconsin.

So Wisconsin, we, Popple, will come to your state today, not only to play sweet music, but also to tell you that is OK to embrace your French side. Perhaps some toast, horns, fries, hens or kisses.
